The byzantine pattern has many other names - Etruscan, Fool's Dilemma, Idiot's Trap, Idiot's Delight, and Bird's Nest to name a few - many of these name almost certainly came from those whose fingers felt like they were tied in knots creating the link. But it's worth it. The byzantine pattern is a classic for a reason - the link is highly textural but it's also very flexible and easy to wear. Fortunately I think it's also a joy to create. The sterling silver and copper combination in this piece provides a nice contrast - showing off the intricacy of the design. This piece is created by linking handmade jump rings in this intricate pattern. 7 1/2" in length and 3/8" in width with a toggle clasp. Please contact me if you wish to customize the length. Also available in sterling silver only or in a black and white combination using sterling silver and oxidized copper.
